The Hybrid Cooling Vest is lightweight and easy to (re)activate. The vest is suitable for multifunctional use, such as during work, sports and recreational applications.
The Hybrid vest is designed to be worn in places where there is no extremely high ambient temperature and works best in low to medium humidity. The amount of airflow on the body determines the cooling effect and the duration of the cooling.
By immersing it in water, the Hybrid vest can be used as a wet cooling vest, but is also prepared for the separately available Macna Cool Packs. These are available in 21? and 29? version.
Activation - Nat:
The Hybrid Cooling Vest cooling material is designed for up to 200 wet/dry cycles (activations). Over time, water absorption decreases as the fibers cluster together in the fabric structure.
A reduction in water absorption may occur after the first 10 wet/dry cycles; after this the absorption remains relatively stable. This is a normal process. The material still offers very effective water absorption, evaporation and thus cooling capacity.
The degree of absorption is also influenced by the maintenance method of the product and the water quality.
Activation - Cool Packs:
The time it takes to fully activate them depends on the Cool Pack temperature and the cooling method:
You can also activate them by exposing them to an ambient temperature lower than:
Whichever cooling method you use you can shorten the activation time by not stacking the packs, but laying them flat in a single layer. If you want to use them straight from the freezer, they may feel too cold to wear. It is therefore advised to wait at least five minutes to allow them to warm up to their set temperature of 21°C or 29°C, depending on the type of PCM you have chosen. Once the PCM has reached this temperature, it will hold it for hours!

Over Macna
Dutch Design: Our country is known for it abroad: Dutch Design. What does that actually mean? Minimalist, innovative, unconventional and often with a touch of humor - these are terms that are often used. The same could be said about Macna's product design. Throw functionality, usability and security into the mix and you have the recipe for the philosophy! In the R&D department, the designers work like a well-oiled machine, looking for the balance between technology and fashion, with the aim of improving your motorcycle ride. Rumor has it that they don't even have office chairs, but do their job from the saddle of the motorcycle. To be honest, that's not even far-fetched: at several points during the design process, the computers are shut down and the engines started. Time to test!
How it started: About 30 years ago they were experimenting with gloves and came up with a new production method to make gloves more affordable and waterproof. These gloves became a success the start of something beautiful! Not long after, they launched their first jacket. It didn't look in any way like the Macna jackets you see today, but it did have the razor-sharp price/quality ratio that they still strive for today. Since then, they have always paid a lot of attention to innovation in motorcycle clothing. Some concepts were grand, others just details - but always designed to contribute to a better driving experience. To name a few: the Sandwich System, Vision Vest, Summer Comfort System, Twin Shell, Night Eye. and even as the brand grows worldwide, they will always keep working on this!
