I have used the product three times and found it bulky and ineffective in keeping me cool. The fabric is thick and prevents the cooling tube from doing what it is suppose to do.

Glad I found this

I had KewlFit Gear and a lot of the time I only needed cooling on my neck. I was looking to get a "spare" and could not find them. The provided Phase Change Neck gear was really bulky. I was happy to discover these TechKewl Cooling Neck Bands. They are less bulky and I like the fabric sleeve versus the neoprene of the other model.

I have MS and Heat/Humidity affects my functionality. I learned cooling on my neck is usually adequate to lower my internal temps. I already have a TechKewl Phase Change Vest but don't need to wear a vest all the time - neck cooling is adequate. I have tried the neck coolers you soak in water, as well as ones which require freezing for 6-8 hours. The problem was for the freezer ones, I had to take up an entire shelf in the freezer and take 2 large coolers (one being electric to prevent them from melting while sitting in the car) in order to enjoy a day outing. With the Phase Change I can wear one set and recharge the second in ice water, 3 hours later when first is no longer charged put on the second and submerge the first in the cooler to charge.
Pros
  • 45 minute recharge in ice water. Flat design. Washable cover.
  • Keeps temp consistent without "cold shock" in the beginning.
Cons
  • Needed to add extra velcro because I wasn't able to keep it stationary on my neck.
  • Currently, it is cumbersome to move head left and right - wind up hitting 1/2" above my jaw. Would be better if it was contoured - keep the Center 2 squares the current dimensions and then taper the remaining toward the front so the ends are 50% as tall as the center two.
